  1. Jan 07,  · The second side of the album is a good as Echo & The Bunnymen gets tough. Alongside the ace singles "The Killing Moon" and "Seven Seas" there is "My Kingdom" with its upbeat joyful guitar and bassline interplay, and then to finish it off, maybe their finest track ever: "Ocean Rain". A genius decision to employ real strings instead of tacky DX7's/5().

  3. Echo & The Bunnymen - Crystal Days by Echo & The Bunnymen The booklet alone is fascinating although I don't get why anyone would think Ocean Rain is the best LP. Heaven Up here is the best album of their career and probably the entire '80s. well, and is the most successful of the four discs in its cumulative clout. Ocean Rain 4/5(28).
  4. Echo And The Bunnymen Ocean Rain on LP “This is another new one off the greatest album ever made. It’s called My Kingdom.” Rock and roll arrogance has never hemmed so close to the truth as this Ian McCulloch introduction to “My Kingdom” during the A Crystal Day concert special.
  5. For me, this is by far the best Echo & The Bunnymen album. The songwriting and musicianship displayed throughout are far better than anything they did before or since. Their other records are good, but this one is better than almost anything out of England in /5().
  6. Ocean Rain is the fourth studio album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen. It was released on 4 May and reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, number 87 .
  7. Channeling the lessons of the experimental Porcupine into more conventional and simple structural parameters, Ocean Rain emerges as Echo & the Bunnymen's most beautiful and memorable effort. Ornamenting Ian McCulloch's most consistently strong collection of songs to date with subdued guitar textures, sweeping string arrangements, and hauntingly evocative production, the album is dramatic .
  8. Ocean Rain is the fourth studio album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen. It was released on 4 May and reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, number 87 on the United States Billboard , number 41 on the Canadian RPM Albums and number 22 .
  9. Rock and roll arrogance has never hemmed so close to the truth as this Ian McCulloch introduction to “My Kingdom” during the A Crystal Day concert special. Not only were Echo & the Bunnymen aware of the instant classic status of their latest LP, but the grand, majestic and fluid nature of Ocean Rain made it clear that the band had indeed set out to make “the greatest album ever made.”.
